Disclaimer - If the listed tape type is not available, there's no need to worry. All of our crafts can be adjusted to use whatever tape you have on hand!
Cut a strip of Duck Tape® twice as long as the feather you'd like to create. Lay the strip sticky-side up on your work surface. Place a pencil or pen centered onto one end of the sticky-side of the duct tape. Leave 3 - 4 in. of the bottom of the pencil or pen hanging off the tape.
Fold the tape onto itself, sandwiching the pencil or pen inside.
Press gently from the center to edges of the pencil or pen to smooth the duct tape.
Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut a pointy feather shape at the top of the tape, then round off the bottom edges. Snip angled slits along both sides of the tape to make it look like a feather. Repeat to make enough feather pens to fill up a jar.
Now for the turkey. Cut a turkey shape out of colored cardstock (or print out a turkey image) and attach the turkey to a glass jar or votive. Then, fill the jar with the feather pens and place it on the Thanksgiving table. Add one piece of paper at each Thanksgiving place setting that says, “I Am Thankful For...” so all guests can write down what they are thankful for.
Bring out the turkey feather pens every year for a fun family tradition!
